James Brown letter, 1829 Mar. 31.

Letter sent by James Brown in Paris, France, to Joseph Gales, editor of the National Intelligencer, in which he enclosed a newspaper account of an "affray" between American and French sailors at Mahan, France, in which a French officer and an American sailor were killed. The newspaper clipping was not received with the letter.
